This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) is applicable to all data collected and/or obtained by Universal Music Group in connection with the Universal Music Group Royalty Global Royalty Portal (the “Site”), available at https://www.GlobalRoyaltyPortal.umusic.com This Privacy Policy is part of and incorporated into the Terms of Use governing the Site.  Please review the 
Terms of Use prior to using the Site. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the definitions provided in the Terms of Use.

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Site and information you submit to us via the Site; in relation to the Site, this Privacy Policy supersedes the privacy policy set forth at http://privacypolicy.umusic.com.  This Privacy Policy describes the information collected from you when visiting the Site and how it may be used, including any further disclosure of such information to third parties.  We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time by updating this page/posting, with the new terms taking effect on the date of posting.  You can determine if any changes were made to this Privacy Policy by noting the date that the Privacy Policy was last updated.  By continuing to access the Site after we post any changes, you accept and agree to this Privacy Policy, as modified.

What Information Do We Collect? 

We created the Site as a convenient means for you to obtain information relating to the accrual and payment of royalties by Universal Music Group and its affiliated and distributed labels (together, “UMG”).  The Site may be used by artists, publishers and others who receive payment of royalties by UMG (“Participants”), and under certain circumstances, the Site may be used by authorized representatives of such persons (“Representatives”).  No other use of the Site is authorized by UMG.

The Site may present you with the opportunity to provide personal information to us, including name, contact information, and tax identification number.  If you are a Representative and provide personal information of a Participant, you represent and warrant to UMG that you are authorized to do so, and you hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold UMG harmless against any claim that you are not so authorized.

It is always your choice whether to provide personal information, but if you do not provide certain information, the Site may not be available to you; if the Site is not available to you, you may always communicate with UMG via postal mail, email, telephone, and other conventional means.

We may collect some information automatically from visitors to the Site, such as through the use of cookies and other tracking mechanisms.  If we do, this information will be collected regardless of whether you have registered with us, and if you have not registered with us, the information we collect automatically may or may not be matched to you personally.  We collect at least the following:  The name and domain of the service provider through which you have obtained Internet access; the Internet address of the site from which you came to the Site; the date and time of your access; your computer’s IP address and information about its operating system, browser and host; and the pages you visit within the Site.  We use this information to help administer and troubleshoot our Site, to make it more useful and attractive to visitors, and for other purposes.  Your IP address may also be used to gather broad demographic information and in some cases to identify your business or you.

Our Use of Information 

We may use your personal information to provide you with information, updates, or other communications, or to respond to inquiries or requests for service or assistance.  We may use anonymous information gathered from the Site for the management and improvement of the Site and for other purposes.  We may send communication to you via service providers that we hire to support our business.  Messages that we send to you will always contain instructions to enable you to opt-out of receiving some or all future communications from us.

In the event that we, or a significant portion of our assets (relating to our entire group, to one or more of our labels, or to our interests in relation to one or more Participants) are acquired by another company, information about visitors to the Site, including any personal information that we have obtained, would likely be among the transferred assets.

We reserve the right to disclose all information collected via the Site, internally or to third parties, for any lawful purpose or to prevent harm to us or others.  For example and without limitation, in our discretion we may disclose information to government regulators, law enforcement authorities or alleged victims of identity theft.  We may dispose of information in our discretion without notice, subject to applicable law.

Note About Children’s Privacy Issues

We do not intend to and do not want to collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.  The Site may not be used by children under the age of 13.  Representatives of Artists under the age of 13 should not provide personal information of such Artist without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.

International Considerations

Personal information collected via the Site may be stored and processed by our staff or service providers both inside and outside of Europe and/or any other country in which UMG or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Site, you consent to any such transfer of information into and out of your country, state, and/or territory. We will take all reasonably necessary steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in line with this privacy policy. We may share your personal information with any member of the Universal Group of companies, being our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company, and any of its subsidiaries.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
